An 18650 cell is a standard format [cylindrical lithium-ion](/entry/tc-ec-cell-li-cyl)
[cell](/entry/tc-ec-cell-s), with a diameter of {this.get(prop=prop("diameter"))}
and a length of {this.get(prop=prop("length"))} (slightly larger than a
[AA battery](/entry/tc-batt-aa)).
The 18650 cell has been used since the late 1990s and has been popular for a wide range of applications that
require a rechargeable battery - such as flashlights, laptops, power tools, and even electric vehicles. Due
to the popularity of the 18650 cell, they are usually an easily available, well-understood, and affordable
option.
